After building India’s largest fitness marketplace, Neha K Motwani hit a wall she didn’t see coming: infertility. The experience of navigating the chaos, confusion, and coldness of IVF sparked the idea for Luma fertility.
Frustrated by the lack of support, clarity, and compassion in traditional clinics, Neha reimagined what fertility care should look like.
💡 So she did what great founders do—she built what she needed.
Luma fertility is a tech-powered clinic reimagining fertility care for Indian women—backed by $4M from Surge (Peak XV Partners seed platform). The startup plans to use the funds to open more full-stack fertility clinics in Mumbai and expand to other cities over the next two years. Learn more about her story here.

bhar’s picks
12 South Asian women. One living room. Endless chai. ☕️
And conversations our mothers and aunties probably never imagined having.
A few weeks ago in Bellevue, I walked into a living room full of brilliant brown women—some seasoned investors, others just starting to explore the world of angel investing. And yet, there we were: talking openly about money, ownership, and how to fund the next wave of South Asian women founders.
It was our first Chai & Chaat in Seattle, hosted by the amazing founder, CEO and BGA investor, Preeti Suri, and it reminded me just how much has shifted in our community. These kinds of rooms—casual, honest, safe—haven’t always been accessible to us. But that’s exactly what we’re building at BGA: spaces where we can connect, learn, and mobilize capital together.
The energy was electric. From Angel Investing 101 to pitch strategies and personal goals, the conversations were both grounded and inspirational. This is how we change what leadership and wealth look like in our communities.
🤎 Some words of love from the women who attended:
"What a phenomenal group, thanks for bringing us together!"
"It was such a learning experience and a great commitment to be part of the solution."
"Such powerful conversations and this work is incredibly important."
To everyone who showed up, asked questions, shared insights—thank you. The future is bright (and brown).

We love the South Asian founder and investor ecosystem that our friends at Bae HQ have built in London. If you’re in the area, learn more about Bae HQ from their newsletter.
